The hand that's not playing over César's skin is still holding onto the hand, and he leans in to give the palm a gentle kiss.
"Of course, my love." So he lingers, but he does start to vary the touch a little, going from stroking in circles to gentle taps like raindrops falling on César's skin. Still no nails, just something a little different for variety.

César's utterly fascinated that this does something for him. 'My love' sends a little thrill through him, as always. He lets out a sigh and leans back to relax against the headboard, becoming boneless. This is strangely easy to focus on, allowing him to stay awake instead of napping.

Johnny will win awards from César for how well he's demonstrating that this is not just about sex. That's just one form of intimacy, and intimacy is what César desires most of all. Being able to place his soul safely in the hands of another is one of the greatest gifts he could ever receive.
It's entirely worth the effort, and it quickly becomes clear why. For a moment, César looks shocked as a surge of unexpected emotions-thoughts-associations-memories surge through his brain. Then César smiles again, wobbly, as his eyes so full of love develop blurred vision and leaks.
He opens his mouth to try to explain but cannot find words, and can hardly find air.
Johnny lets go of César's arm, that hand moving to cup his face instead, thumb gently stroking his cheek, those tears. No, an explanation is hardly necessary here. He loves knowing how he can move this man to such great emotion. He loves being in the presence of such powerful feelings.
Johnny brushing away tears makes César's heart fill near to bursting. Enough that he has to do more than just sit there.
César leans slowly forward to kiss Johnny's lips gently without dislodging his hand, then rests their forehead together, eyes now closed. "I forgot then remembered... it's been over a year."
Since he last had heard those words. Since he wondered if he would ever be loved again. But now he has his answer.
